Health trackers are nanotech now that can live in your bloodstream and give instant data on stress levels, your body’s response to what you just ate, whether your brain is getting enough glucose for the presentation you’re about to give, etc. The data is analyzed by medical AI, and the accuracy of diagnoses skyrockets. This tech revolutionizes preventative care, replacing mammograms, colonoscopies, blood draws, etc, and there are specialized bots that can pinpoint chemo and/or radiation to cancer cells only, leaving the rest of the body healthy.
There’s a cultural norm not to obsess over the minute details the tech gives, but to first sense into yourself and then occasionally check the data to help tune your sensory compass.
Doctors and medical professionals give the highly personalized aspects that technology can’t handle, like hugs, healing touch, and empathy.
Bed mattresses have a sub-structure that can analyze the position of your body, spine, muscles, and fascia, and make micro adjustments to your body throughout the night- straightening your spine, putting you in subtle positions that slowly release your muscles and fascia throughout the night, giving pulses that improve bloodflow, etc.

Why I keep forgetting that exercise feels amazing. This could just as easily live in my journal, but in my favorite version of reality a lot of things get added in the comments, and this lives as a resource for everyone and for me the next time I forget that exercise feels amazing.
I'm a week into returning to exercise, and so far everything about it is wildly different than before. I consistently feel the tug back toward my old mindsets, but I'm practicing reminding myself of these things over and over and over.
These are all such different mindset orientations than I've ever had before, and I hope writing this helps me remember that when I do it wisely from the right mindsets, exercise and going to the gym feels friggin amazing.
Erotic energy is often not about sex.
I think it is mostly an impulse to create something together. I don’t have a good model for the causal mechanism of how it works, but I think that attraction essentially hints at a specific potential between the two parties. Sex and “baby” is the creation-potential only a tiny fraction of the time.
Here are some of the many alternative creation-potentials, in no particular order. Would love to hear what else y’all notice, as this is not an attempt at an exhaustive list:
A project for you to create together
as small as a party and as big as an organization
An emotional gift one of you has for the other
eg: a piece of advice, sharing of life experience, an introduction to someone important
Similarly, information share—eg: a mutual friend needs to be taken care of
A quality or characteristic for you to integrate/embody more: The classic projection of a “golden shadow”
Eg: “She’s so strong” because I’m not claiming my strength, or “he’s so smart” because I’m not comfortable admitting my own intelligence
A psychodynamic transformation (aka "healing")
Eg: you projecting your mom/dad stuff onto each other can be seen as a beautiful chance to make it conscious so you can be more present and available in all your relationships
A different kind of relationship: Ongoing friendship, mentorship, employment, or some other awesome/potent relationship
A chance to see what you’re avoiding in other relationships. This is the classic where someone cheats rather than deal with stuff at home.

You meet someone new and feel that sudden frisson of erotic excitement. That’s a crush—must be romantic love, right? We’ve watched it happen so many times in ourselves, our community, our movies and books, that it’s almost taken for granted. But I think as soon as I point out the alternatives, they seem obvious too. I wonder if there are other media and cultural narratives to help support more awareness of the alternative? I feel like this would help people be more open to different kinds of love, different kinds of relationships, and suffer a lot less. I feel like this awareness has done so for me, at least.
Hat Tip to Ken Wilber, where I first heard of using the word “eros” as the creative impulse of the universe driving to more novelty.
Making sense of "Love Money, Money Loves You". At work the book Love Money, Money Loves You
by Sarah McCrum came up, so I read it. Broadly speaking, I don’t recommend it.
It gestures toward some perspectives I think will be very personally rewarding, on topics including: value, service, exchange, agency, and happiness. Reading it has planted the seeds of some ideas that have real potential. But those grains of pre-insight are surrounded by bullshit, falsity, and inconsistency. I feel like my epistemic immune system got a real workout, fending off a bunch of idea-germs and allowing to digest the information safely.
Has anyone here read it? I’m wondering if you can help me make sense of it faster than I will alone. Assuming that you haven’t taken it literally: how have you interpreted it and what have you changed as a result of reading it? Are there any other books which share the same ideas but with less bullshit?
What's your view on EMFs? What do you belief about EMFs? I keep hearing seemingly reputable people warning about them. My husband says the argument isn’t scientifically sound. If you think EMFs are harmful, why, and how do you reduce exposure? I use wireless headphones a lot- my phone not so much.
Which diet is best? Which diet do you believe is the best for overall human health?
I’ve done a million and one ways of eating, and I’ve currently landed on prioritizing protein, fiber, and colors (diverse veggies).
I’m interested to hear more from others on your dietary choices, recommendations, opinions, or research that you believe speaks to the best diets.
Also, there are many use cases- clarify what you’re aiming for. Building muscle, losing weight, living a long time, reducing inflammation, having a good time, etc.
Anyone drinking molecular hydrogen rich water? A friend of mine bought a water bottle that turns regular water into hydrogen rich water. She’s been drinking this water for several months and swears by it. She says she has more energy, recovers easily from physical exercise, and her senses are heightened.
The water bottle is distributed by a MLM. I thought it was a new thing. But I researched and was surprised to see how popular molecular hydrogen rich water is.
I’ll usually an early adopter of stuff like this but I’m hesitant because the long-term effects are not known.
Is there anyone drinking this stuff? What has your experience been?
