I’m Bryan, though creatively I go by AIBRY. I’m a songwriter and producer, software/AI builder, carpenter, and the kind of person who usually has way too many projects going at once.
I’m passionate about creating things that actually mean something. That might be a song that puts a difficult feeling into words, a piece of software that solves a problem in a completely different way, rebuilding something with my hands, or taking a half-crazy idea and figuring out how to make it real.
Music is a huge part of my life. I write mostly metal, trapmetal, dark trap, and spoken word, and I’m drawn to the uncomfortable subjects people often have trouble talking about. I’m much more interested in something being authentic than being polished or universally appealing.
I’m also fascinated by AI and what happens when we stop treating it as just a chatbot and start asking bigger questions. How do we give an AI useful long-term context? How can it understand why something matters instead of simply remembering that it happened? Can we model things like preference, emotional response, trust, and judgment without pretending the machine literally experiences them the way a person does? I don’t know all the answers, which is exactly why those questions interest me.
I build software around some of those ideas, including systems for AI-assisted project management, governance, creative work, memory, and decision-making. A lot of my projects start with, “I wonder if this is possible,” followed shortly by me finding out.
Outside of software and music, I’ve spent years working with my hands—carpentry, remodeling, framing, decks, fences, concrete, mechanical projects, and whatever else somebody probably should have hired a professional to do.
The people I love are ultimately what matters most to me. Being a dad has shaped a lot of what I build, write, worry about, and fight for. I’ve learned that surviving difficult periods and building a meaningful life afterward are two very different things.
I’m still figuring plenty of things out. What makes a good life? How much of who we are comes from what happened to us versus what we choose to build afterward? How do you know when to keep fighting something and when to let it go? And how many unfinished projects can one person technically have before it becomes an ecosystem?
Apparently, I’m conducting research on that last one.
