A Data Center Owner Says Google Is Lying About Water. Here's What Checks Out.

A five-month-old video of an Iowa data center owner is spreading without context. Here's what's true, what's spin, and what's still unknown.

His message was blunt: “Everything that Google is telling you is B.S.… They’re gonna burn through the water and when it’s done it’s done and they don’t care.”

Google confirms it will use water-consuming cooling near Palo, but key numbers on drought and total use are still missing. No company should get a blank check to consume public resources while the community is told to trust the sales pitch.
