They put human beings up for sale like used cars, advertised them by nationality, priced them by obedience, and treated their freedom as a negotiable expense. The 2019 BBC investigation exposed a rotten system where domestic workers could be confined, underpaid, stripped of their passports, and passed from one employer to another while platforms hosted the listings and enforcement lagged behind.

Laws on paper mean nothing when abuse continues behind closed doors and those responsible face no consequences. The technology was modern, but the exploitation was ancient. Call it sponsorship, recruitment, or a transfer of employment. When a person is priced, controlled, and denied the freedom to leave, changing the label does not change the ugly reality.

A human being is not property, and no app, employer, or government should be allowed to pretend otherwise.
