Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce held their main wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden on July 3, 2026. The event drew around one thousand guests. The arena stayed fully lit and operational through the night with no reported power restrictions. Signs reading "Just &T Married" appeared on screens outside.

This happened during a severe heat wave that pushed temperatures near 101 degrees Fahrenheit in New York City. Real feel temperatures climbed even higher with humidity. Con Edison, the sole electricity provider for the city, reported more than eighty thousand customers lost power across Thursday and into Friday. Outages hit hardest in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. By Friday morning, thousands remained without electricity. Specific numbers included roughly five thousand customers still affected in the Bronx, six thousand in Queens, and five thousand on Staten Island at points during the day.
