Well before I ever had any inclination of an ability to draw, I had once taken a ruler and some pencils and just some slight shading to add some depth.
This was a study of that and an attempt to practice the effect to see if I could do something effective with acrylic paints. I was really experimenting with different blending techniques as well as different approaches to the shadows, so they are chaotic and disorderly.
Yet, at the time I was in treatment for traumatic brain injury so the chaos and the disorder holds a lot of meaning to me here. In some ways flow of pipes invokes networks of neurons in the brain for me, and the chaos of it reminds me of how I felt in those days, learning to accept that things were not flowing quite the way they ought.
