I literally joined a few seconds ago. As you see I’m a crafter; specifically crochet. I’m a huge anime and Kung-fu movie fan. I’m Seventh-Day Adventist and base everything I do on the teachings of Jesus Christ. I’m both Gullah and Sappony. Born and raised in Washington, DC, the heartbeat of the nation— or at least it was until the takeover of 2025. My city is still under occupation and the presence of the National Guard and ICE just saddens me. I grew up having Sabbath School picnics and school lunches on the Capitol steps. Congressmen used to poll by simply walking outside and talking to the people who happened to walk by. The separation between the residents of DC and the government there just grows wider every day.
I have a daughter who is neurodiverse but has beaten the odds. She went from being born at 25 weeks completely disabled, unable to produce red blood cells, and incapable of breathing on her own to being a perspective student at UMES’ sequential arts program and will debut at her first anime convention there as an artist. I, too have been diagnosed with focal point seizure disorder as a result of a cancer battle I faced seven years ago. God is truly amazing. Anyways, that’s my testimony.
