AI Safety and Acceleration

I love AI. I use it daily and it’s changed what I’m capable of. So I’m not coming at this from fear.
But loving something doesn’t mean being blind to it. The people warning about existential risk aren’t wrong to worry — they’re just possibly aiming at the wrong target. And the accelerationists aren’t wrong either — this technology is genuinely extraordinary and slowing it down carelessly could cost us things we can’t yet imagine.
The view that resonates most with me is the third one. The threat was never really the technology itself. It’s who controls it, how it’s concentrated, and whether ordinary people ever get meaningful access to its benefits or just absorb its consequences.
AI in the hands of everyone is a miracle. AI in the hands of a few is just a new kind of power we’ve seen before — and we know how that story goes.
