Human Engagement Through Literature
Reading literature generated by A.I. would be like having sex with a department store mannequin; meaningless, and void of any real stimulation. This is because we human beings, for the most part, read literature not only for story, or for character, or even for information. The fundamentals of our reading enjoyment stem from engaging with the consciousness of another sentient entity, another human being -- the writer -- be him/her dead or alive. Moreover, we read literature to be one with a community of fellow sentients who have, often over many decades, traversed the same pages, the same words, the same ideas. We feel connected with the consciousness of the writer and with all of his readers; the very necessary sense of family, and -- why not? -- love. Good luck, A.I., trying to duplicate that experience.
