What is "trust?"

New to psychology

What does trust mean to you?

Merriam-Webster says:
>> a. assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something
>> b. one in which confidence is placed

How did you come to believe your perspective on trust?

Was the concept of trust instilled in you by your parents, teachers, religion, or something else?

What are your indicators of trustworthiness?

I’m curious to hear what folk’s indicators for trust are.

Some things folks might base trust on:
- Named sources (i.e. being able to quote where ideas have come from)
- Credentials from institutions
- An intuitive sense
- Demonstration of a specific or set of qualities over time
- Body language
- Social Credibility
- etc.
