Hello All!
So nice to find a social app that has sustenance to it!
A little background- I'm soon to be 45, engaged to my childhood love, have 3 LARGE boys, some college (but intentionally self-educated) and speaking only from direct experiences. I have been officially diagnosed with C-PTSD, Bi-polar 1, Generalized Anxiety, Fibromyalgia and am (obviously 😉🥰...) a previous drug and alcohol addict/abuser.
In 2020, I suffered a psychotic break in reality brought on by several severely traumatizing situations. It lasted for about 6 months. It was not drug-induced- I have been a very habitual user of marijuana since my mid-teens and could not smoke or partake in it in any form, during that time. I was having paranoid delusions completely sober and it was scary enough without any help.
My personality being what it is, led me to many distressing interactions with first responders- mainly being the police officers of NYS.
One huge commonality that humans going through a mental health crisis have: they will most likely be dealing with law enforcement and/or first responders at some point.
Yet to come!!! -->I will be writing more detailed breakdowns of what occurred and the timeline of how my mental health worsened due to the way I was mishandled by law enforcement especially, but other institutions as well.
First though, I wanted to introduce myself and see what others have to say about this topic!
