Do you think monetizing this platform would be a good thing, or not, and why?
If so, what kind of monetization structures do you think would be the most effective?
If not, what turns you away from platform monetization, considering that it has the potential to be an additional income source?
On one hand, with so much changing in the job market, the rising costs in the economy, and the changes in the very nature of work itself, people are looking for additional ways to make money to support their needs, as well as methods of income that don't take such a toll on their minds and bodies.
On the other hand, many platforms have been shown to go downhill, become oversaturated, see a decline in content quality, and attract those willing to try to bypass platform rules, with the incentive of money being the primary goal. This leads to frustration, frequently stolen ideas, "rage-bait" or willfully ignorant posting, and the same kinds of negative things associated with other platforms, that UpTrust seems to be trying to differentiate itself from.
I think it would be nice to have an option of monetization available to those who are responsible enough to utilize it in a way that would provide mutual growth, with the original platform's purpose of cultivating insightful thoughts at the forefront. In this day and age, I believe we give too much of ourselves, our minds, our images, and our very essence to the world through social media, getting very little back in return most times. I believe knowledge is valuable, and participating in spreading ideas that are insightful, resonant, and eye-opening deserve to be rewarded in a way that is tangible to the person providing these things.
What do you think?
