CENTCOM Reports Iran Missile Attack on U.S. Aircraft Carrier and Destroyer Followed by Strikes on Three Iranian Tankers

U.S. Central Command reported on September 5 2026 that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched ballistic missiles at two U.S. Navy warships. The targets were a U.S. aircraft carrier and a guided missile destroyer operating in regional waters. CENTCOM called the attacks unprovoked.
