SEARCHING FOR LOST MONEY: I am an old accountant and remember when all of the states passed unclaimed property laws (lost checks) back in the 1980s and 1990s. Whoever is reading this can go to your state comptroller's website and search for lost money that the state comptroller is holding for you. In Texas, there is $2.8B. There is roughly $70B in the U.S. To search for example in Texas, go to www.claimittexas.gov. In any other state, google "Arizona Unclaimed Property", "Indiana Unclaimed Property", etc. If you find anything for you, your family, your friends, deceased individuals, your kids' schools, your church, your business, apply for it and normally expect to take about 4 weeks to get a check in the mail. You need to send them proof you are the person or you represent the company claiming the money. You are welcome to ask me about this. I have claimed money in 8 states for a number of companies and individuals. No, I don't ask for any fees. I just don't want the states to keep the money. Good luck.
