When a database could help keep a community safe but could also be used to track neighbors who disagree with those in power, what would make you trust it enough to say yes?

That's always the eternal question, whether something capable of being both useful & detrimental at the same time is worthy of being brought to market; the simple fact remains that we have little to say about it, as TPTB (the powers that be) are always going to find/create ways to help them retain power while the powerless remain so.
