Planetary Patriarchs
Earlier this year I attended Relateful Camp in Texas.
I was invited to give a 5 minute lightning talk on any topic.
I walked up in front of about 100 people and grabbed the microphone.
“I’m going to tell you the thing I’m most afraid to tell you” I told the audience.
“I’m going to tell you about something I think about in my room alone at night, and don’t often share with people.”
The audience seemed receptive and open. I felt bold and courageous. I took a risk and shared from my heart.
“I feel like when we use the word Patriarchy there is a subtle way we are hating men.
The world we are living in needs male leadership.
We need men who can stand up on a global scale and say what is okay and what is not okay.
We need principled men who are big-hearted and who embody the posture of ‘I love you unconditionally as you are, and I’m going to challenge you to be better.’
We have a collective father wound.
We are hurting in our relationship with men and male leadership.
We need healthy and vibrant examples of what is possible as male leaders.”
I had tears sharing this with the group.
Afterwards, several men came and grabbed me to hug me and shake my hand.
I touched something deep, down in the depths of what matters most and what’s most needed in these times.
Planetary Patriarchs is building the next generation of men as stewards of wellbeing.
A global community emerging as a new archetype of masculinity, oriented from embodied power, abundant love, genuineness, generosity, and virtue.
