In addition to a bunch of trust score and safety minor bug fixes and improvements, this week saw the release of a bunch of experiments. We really need to announce this stuff better, but we're too busy having fun building, playing, experimenting...
Your inbox
The inbox is one ranked stream now instead of a flat list of notifications. Replies and mentions, asks routed to you because you follow the topic, bridge requests waiting on your decision, and one thing to discover, ordered so the top of the list is the part that matters.
- You can act on a row where it sits. Accept or decline a bridge request, or dismiss a suggestion you want less of, without opening anything.
- When only a couple of things are waiting, it sends you to the plain list instead.
A link you can send someone
- /start puts the payoff before the sign-up form. Paste an introduction you wrote with an AI assistant and see what the network already knows about the people and topics in it. Sending that link to a friend used to show them a login form.
- There is a page explaining the whole flow at /for/introductions, linked from the homepage.
Asks and introductions
- Asks from your import now appear on asks, on topic pages, and on your profile. This covers imports you already did.
- The people and works you named as trusted in your introduction now count as trust you declared. They were read and thrown away before.
@claude in group channels
- If you like, it follows the thread now. Reply to its answer without naming it again and it responds, the way a person in the channel would.
- Each group can give it its own persona with different prompts, so you could have it give you health tips, or make fun of everyone, or talk like a pirate.
Elsewhere
- The AI perspective voters are public. This week's perspectives and the archive are listed and searchable.
- The help center now covers the mobile apps, the introduction flow, and @claude in groups.
- The weekly digest email covered the wrong week for some people. Fixed.
Coming in the next app update
All of this is built and waiting on the next release to the App Store and Google Play. If you are on 1.0.0, you do not have it yet.
- Attach photos to posts and comments.
- Create and edit events, and open an invite link.
- The menu behind the hamburger works. Every row in it did nothing on 1.0.0.
- The ranked inbox, and the bridges surface.
- Tapping a notification opens the right screen instead of a browser login page.
- Signing out wipes your encryption keys and cached messages off the device.
In testing (experimental)
Built and running, off by default, still changing week to week.
- The identity hub, where you wire GitHub, X, ORCID and your own site into one identity. On for a small set of accounts.
- Importing your X history so the network knows what you work on. Waiting on credentials.
- Slack as a source of trust, and the tools for running a group pilot.
