This week at UpTrust (Sep 30)

We made a set of short films about how UpTrust works. This one is 37 seconds, and it's the easiest way to explain UpTrust to a friend: What is UpTrust? If someone comes to mind, send them an invite.

easier bookmarks (save posts and come back to them)

One tap saves a post, and holding it adds the post to a list. Everything you saved is on your Bookmarks page, and you can search it. This replaces the old Collections.

Writing and posting

A reply that fails to send keeps your words, with a Retry button. Drafts save per account, and a retried send no longer posts twice.
On a phone, Return starts a new line instead of sending.
If a post is refused, you're now told why. Before, it just didn't appear.
Claude or ChatGPT can now post for you in a group you've joined, once you approve "Post for you". Connect an assistant

Groups

You can attach a .md or .txt file to a channel message or a group post.
Groups show their real name everywhere, including email, push and the digest, instead of a handle that looked like random letters.
Photo and Poll work on mobile web, and uploads keep working after you switch channels.

Profiles

A profile now opens on the person's posts, and "Can help with" is a list with a one-tap "Request help".
After you write an introduction, an assistant can suggest a bio, photo and links for your profile. Nothing changes until you approve each one.
Every topic trust score shows how many signals it rests on, so you can tell a strong score from a thin one.

Minor fixes for bridges, notifications

The Trust sort on Bridges ranks by trust. It had been sorting by newest. Backers now hear when a bridge they funded is fulfilled.
A post with no title is quoted by its first words instead of empty quotes, and excerpts end on a whole word.
Typing a name like "Acme, Inc." no longer pings whoever happens to own "Acme".

Faster and steadier

Signing in is several times faster, and a link from the digest signs you in with one click.
Open tabs should stop going blank while we ship updates, and images no longer get stuck loading.
The iPhone app is at version 1.1.1 in the App Store. It fixes some bugs, and chats now mark as read.
Past issues of Perspectives this week that showed an error are back.
