construed from the individual’s perspective and assuming death is the end of the road in some materialist sense; but from the collective point of view i’m not so sure. I really haven’t thought about it a lot so i’m not taking a big stand here.... INTRODUCTION Neither King Nor Mob I first encountered American politics as an argument, not a spectacle. At fifteen, I read The Federalist Papers and the Anti-Federalist responses.... Could you choose your own legal code?: The Story
The bazaar where the merchandise is the law Imagine signing a legal code the way you sign a terms of service. Scroll past the tort reform clause. Check the box on property rights. Opt out of capital gains tax. Click "I agree." This sounds like science fiction.... I appreciate hearing this. I used to be super liberatarian-esque non-interventionism, but a few years ago I read "Prisoners of Geography", (highly recommend) written by a British veteran global journalist, and between the lines I kept being grateful that Team America really was... - Lesakisses...

Not all Democrats are Communists. But there is a rise in Democratic Socialists in the Democratic Party. Democrats believe in Equity. Republicans believe in Equality. Republicans believe you have the right to ruin your own life and live a miserable life.... - Daniel1948...

I agree. The deeper I dig into the ideologies of the founding fathers the more I find fault within the framing. "All men were created equal" except black people, poor people, indigenous people.... - onok, not to be a downer or start a fight or offend anyone , I just would like to ask if anyone here has thoughts on the global political scene. I am 58 and have never given two fucks about politics because I just always knew it was a joke, a scam, a game being run on the people. But the moves lately have caught my attention. Yet, I do not watch TV at all. for almost 10 years. Because it is an tool used to control perception and thereby behavior. And I like to be free from control. I have some very radical beliefs, but I am always interested in learning how other people feel and think about their life. I know I am intelligent enough to believe I do not know everything and also that every belief I have now has been expanded from something that came before it so all of my beliefs are subject to be expanded. so if you engage with me be prepared to not take anything I say as something I expect you to adapt to. I have strong feelings, radical beliefs, and I would love seeing if anyone else is fed up with the entire system as I am. 🤸🤸🤸🌼bydan...
That is very opinionated for sure. I am gearing for a long and interesting conversation to see if I can convince you of a way of thinking about what you said that is a bit more constructive.... I agree with you that who it’s in the hands of is huge, possibly THE problem. I think another side of the same multi-sided coin is “what do we align AI to?” And “who determines that?” but Im not sure “everyone equally” is the right answer, in the same way I don’t think we want... - onI’m passionate about the power of storytelling—whether through music, writing, visual art, or conversation—to inspire change and bring people together. I’ve got questions, which may sound “critical” but are designed to give you focus and clarity, rather than “judgementalism” and ridicule. 1) your passion for storytelling: what stories do you know, and from how many aspects?... What would civilizational purpose actually mean?: Pragmatists
The destinations that ended in graves The twentieth century ran two enormous experiments in civilizational purpose — one promised a thousand-year racial empire, the other a final classless utopia. Both knew exactly where history was going.... Is genuine meritocracy possible?: Developmentalists
Lopsided There’s a kind of person every institution is built to produce: brilliant on the cognitive axis, fluent in markets, and roughly fourteen years old everywhere else. We don’t call that person meritorious.... - Fredwage...
There is one verifiable truth: We are all Humans, Being. All of us forever, living in a Subjective World as the Creative Force in our evolution and expression. There are no Gods but the ones we create. There are no nations but the ones we create.... - Neon Dion...

Wokeness and Meritocracy
Identity politics is a natural consequence of inequalities of opportunity yielding inequalities of outcome. Identity-blindness would be great if identity-blindness was actually blind. But we know it is not and can see clearly that it is not....
