This is my first post on here since Dara invited me a few months ago. Feels like it might be a fun place to discuss consciousness and brains. In my Cognition and Emotion class in grad school, we just watched this video.... I get split here. For sure. I have heavy doubts that modern technology can even in the short term achieve "general" intelligence. We barely understand our own minds, it's difficult to think that we can intentionally create it. I love your comment on memory being tied to experimentation.... - Sassiebrat67...
The main reason AI can not replace humans, is because it doesnt have the ability to FEEL. Humans are gifted with compassion, hate, love, spite, jealousy, pride , humility....
