Trump is going to be President (again)
The assassination attempt is definitely helping propel Trump to the presidency (aka the belief that "God is ordaining Trump to be president, thus saved him from harm"), though Elon Musk’s immediate endorsement after the assassination attempt (and $45 mil per month committed... - marcello...
I mean he did kind of claim to have this super power in advance back in 2016: "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldn’t lose any voters, okay?" Trump said, mimicking firing a gun with his fingers.... Attempted Trump Assasination- Was he actually hit by a bullet?
(meta commentary: I imagine the future of uptrust will host more conversations of this nature… so let’s see how we navigate it) On Saturday, former president Donald Trump was the target of an attempted assassination.... - Philip...
WWF Muppets
In this corner, JD Vance, Vance Refrigeration. And in this corner Governor Tim Balz. These guys are muppets. They’ll put on a good show, do their best to get folks riled up and to convince everyone that it’s really important, maybe even existentially important, that their side... "The Secret Service really fucked up". oooo, I am not liking that opinion. I have the upmost respect towards that branch of national security. Several law agencies were involved at that event. I credit the Secret Service with taking action to protect a former president.... - ptsharker...

I think there isn’t any repercussions because the public is allowing him to lead to his own downfall. It will be used as one more strike against him when the timing calls for it.... - 62jazzmaster...
Since the development of the written word and public documentation, the people overseeing what the public consumes realized that the words they use, the context they omit and their views on culture, politics and current events can manipulate public opinion.... - IsBix...
most voters aren't even aware of the policies being written into law by the legislature. they vote on single issues: minimum wage, legalized weed, student loan forgiveness, solar panel subsidies.... - PaperTrails...
It appears there is very strong opinion these days about issues like corruption and misconduct. Either people are 100% sure it's happening on a large scale, or they refuse to believe the possibility even exists.... - Ron62...
Trust scores
Brand new, but the onboarding info suggests Trust Scores reflect how much a post's source "reflects my worldviews"? I'm not really looking for an echo chamber platform and had assumed these scores would focus more on good faith, or even veracity, as opposed to viewpoint... Great charts on polarization and echo-chambers in the USA
Six-Chart Sunday – Where You Sit Is Where You Stand - by some guy named Bruce Mehlman on Substack 90% of Republicans approved of President Trump’s job performance mid-April (~85 days in), tied for the highest own party approval at this point in the term per Hart Research.... - annabeth...
