Patience, aka fractal Forming Storming Norming Performing
Yesterday I was in a circle where someone said something like, "Okay, I’m learning that what I shared (10 minutes ago or something) created more distance and division in the group, and that’s not what I want." I could totally see where they were coming from, with the immediate... - josefine...
It reminds me how us surviving so much conflict has me feel like I trust us to get through almost anything - and it also conflicts my desire to be conflict avoidant (I believe we could have just not had a lot of conflict). Do you think conflict/storming serves a purpose?... - annabeth...
How to hold healthy boundaries with people we love but deeply disagree with
I have decided not to travel to attend a dear friend’s wedding because it’s happening less than a week before the election, and my friend very publicly brings their political opinions in ways I disagree with, ways that play into unhealthy and potentially dangerous interpersonal... - johnky...
Resolution or Revenge? Rethinking Sanctions in the Israel–Palestinian Conflict
One of the biggest problems with the way the Israel–Palestinian conflict is handled is the complete lack of coordination and structure. As it stands, there is no serious international framework in place to bring Israel to the negotiating table with a proposal it would actually... There’s a general thing of using whatever personality or developmental framework to create distance and division. Instead of trying to really understand and empathize with a point of view, you "diagnose" someone as lesser or different because they are avoidant or amber or... My specific thread was difficult for me. A woman I had just met earlier that day said she felt connected to me because we share a "latin america connection" but distant from me because I support genocide. I completely froze when she said that word.... This is a beautiful share, thank you. I find your writing so personal and relatable at the same time. I have to try really hard to write like this; if i don’t it just comes out super theoretical. I’m afraid it comes across as arrogant as well, like I know better.... - Fooljeff...
The fullest truth takes into account the person receivin' it. That don't make it watered down, it makes it complete. It's recognizin' that truth exists between people, not floatin' out in the fuckin' ether waitin' to be grabbed. I've seen men die over truths delivered poorly.... I agree that there are millions who want to settle our differences with conversation, and I believe uptrust will make this happen. It is scary because we are challenging a dominant cultural force that has lots of incumbent power, and I believe the power of love is enough on its... - Florence...
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head when you say “the biggest problem is that each sides narrative requires the others to be illegitimate”. Without even discussing land, cooperation or rights this one phrase sums up the impasse.... "We flipped the incentive for going viral from outrage to overlap."
This speaks to some of the vision of what we see UpTrust unlocking! https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/anoK4akwe8PKjtzkL/plurality-and-6pack-care Our social fabric was coming apart, largely due to "engagement through enragement" parasitic AI—what I call antisocial media." "By... - ballz2dwallz...

hopefully! I know this, and I know adversity breeds character, and I still want to make him so happy and have an easy life… it’s an amazing tension to be with. This morning Jack hit Ciça on the head with a (toy) lacrosse stick and I raised my voice big time.... The brief history is that the Circling Institute (Guy Sengstock) initiated a "Circling Federation" and legally wrote in three schools—CI (Circling Insitute), CE (Circling Europe) and IC (Integral Center); all of my creations were still merged with CE when we all begrudgingly...
