What's your Favorite movie and why?
Mines probably Last of the Mohicans because it's amazing.
hard to pick a favorite, here's what jumps to mind recently everything everywhere all at once (everything - serious, clever, emotional, character-driven, sci-fi, silly, absolute masterpiece) avengers infinity war (thanos as main character, the big surprise, the character making... Severance is great, but it gets one thing weirdly wrong.
(Very mild) Spoilers for season 1 of Severance ahead. First, if you haven't seen Severance, I recommend it! Bookmark this, go watch season 1, form your own opinions, and come back to chat. I just finished both and would love to talk about the ideas. eg: the vision of partial utopia the kinkiness of metaphysics all the stuff about gender forgiveness views on war and its inevitability some of the specific religious/metaphysic ideas I found it extremely good,... future you love We are your friends
Aliens arrive and they are so evolved they lead us to being an amazing thriving world. We are your friends. The joy increases and ecosystems thrive and we sing and dance in the walk streets.... Sci fi futures, developmental futures
A future I love includes some of these; what do you guys see? Everyone is wealthy AF. Used to be only the uber-wealthy had private drivers, now upper-middle income city dwellers all have a private driver on demand (uber/lyft).... What are your sci-fi TV show recommendations? Some i loved that jump to mind:
- The Expanse
- Most of the Marvel stuff like Loki, What If?
- Rick and Morty
- Legends of Tomorrow Etc
I came to recommend Foundation and it’s here already!! I am on season 2. Season 3 comes out 2025. It’s soooo good!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!! DON’T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED!!! I love Day and how much he loves himself.... benefits of not valuing paying more for quality services? . Was thinking about AI contributing to lower service rates by humans. I feel tension around this inevitable happening and had an insight that since we are moving toward lower costs, this could help usher in Universal Basic Income, a world where we don’t need to worry about how much we are making anyways. Does this make sense? It’s longterm though and there’s still a current today ouch to it all.
I know right?? Similar for me, but with my brothers. They got hooked on The Next Generation and I happily went along on the ride. On the inception note- I think it was that same uber-nerd (a former boyfriend) who told me that NASA keeps like 4 science fiction writers on staff.... benefits of not valuing paying more for quality services? . super cool. i’m grateful. I watched The Next Generation with my dad growing up and I’m so impressed with it’s vision and values. The rest of the Star Trek stuff never hooked me quite as much, and my guess is it’s because it didn’t have that same visionary quality—so many things... benefits of not valuing paying more for quality services? .
