"Shouting echo chamber" = a claim made when one side offers any criticism of the other; i.e., that any disagreement means you're in an ideological 'echo chamber.'

No honey. You mistake "tokens" to represent en masse. That's not how the real world works. The mass majority of minority groups are unwilling to play Uncle Tom to make you feel better about yourself....

Oh yeah, that definitely resonates more. It actually feels like another #deeptake :)  I think I'm also getting from you that there's some value for you in honesty around reputation, such that one actually can rely on it within the system....

Love this invitation, and I'll bite.  Hmm, first place my mind goes: optics feels like an instance inside a larger category of taking the social fabric as something to be manipulated, to try to cause people to think particular things or feel particular ways about you or some...

I think keeping this tension and question alive in our awareness, and then running experiments that come from staying present with the tension (desire for the fun/safe/curated, and idea that it won’t last), will help it last longer, and potentially give us insight into...

I am considering that the "uptrust" is similar to reddit. "uptrust" means yeah i want more of this!” and "downtrust" means "nope, less of that." i thought i wanted a like a button initially, but i notice that I don’t have that same desire when I’m on reddit....

Austin is so strange. There’s a kool-aid here that strangely perpetuates until it’s not really a koolaid anymore: be interesting, be friendly, make friends, have fun. I think all the people moving here keeps a constant state of excitement and openness....

I like this thread. I get annoyed when another person’s method of "checking" is self-serving. For example, a co-worker offers a thought/insight/advice etc., and follows it with "Does that make sense?". Her stem, however sincere, just activates my annoyance....
