It’s hard to not be biased. I got the first vaccines because at the time COVID seemed serious and uncertain. I got COVID once and it wasn’t much worse than the common cold, so now I discount it as not a big deal and I don’t need to get any more vaccines.... I want to chip in on the "why I think EMFs aren’t (relatively) harmful" side, so that it gets some representation. From what I remember, the amount of energy in EMF radiation drops off with a distance-squared relationship - 10 times as far away is 100 times less strong - so it... Well said about the indifference and inaction. I feel that, and even focusing our attention on it now is a tiny attempt of mine to move out of that freeze.... Your list also reminds me of Roger Walsh's "therapeutic lifestyle changes" (TLCs) things that have been proven to increase health but are often under"prescribed"; I'd love to see him add comedy and sex specifically, instead of just grouping it under "recreation" :) for those... We Need World One Goverment
Argument: Currently, there are a host of problems, challenges, and opportunities that cannot be adequately addressed within national borders (COVID, pollution, global warming, piracy, tax havens, AI, etc). And this creates arms races and problem of the commons issues.... COVID Vaccines: is the cure is worse than the disease (these days)?
I don’t get COVID vaccines anymore. I did the first round while we were still in lockdown. I stand by the choice to get vaccinated then. We didn’t know what was happening, lots of people were dying, good statistics were hard to come by (good interpretations even harder), and the... Responsibility & Pests
I have very little sense of what I'm meant to do on UpTrust so I'm just going to do something imperfect and refine from here... My dog presently has fleas. Historically when this has happened I give him a bath, apply a topical, and don't have to think about it again.... NEW🚨: Buried in the hundreds of pages Tulsi Gabbard declassified on her way out as Director of National Intelligence is the CIA's own readout of a briefing it gave Anthony Fauci on June 4, 2021.... ICYMI🚨: Yesterday, Senate Chairman Rand Paul subpoenaed Anthony Fauci to testify publicly in July after Fauci backed out of a prior voluntary agreement to appear.... I start tugging on one string and it pulls on much greater themes, but some basic strategic things might be: access to education…whatever kind of education someone wants ability to make mistakes and not have it ruin your life– more safety nets resolution to the opiod crises &... - ballz2dwallz...
close. a friend of mine was ready to die. she had to hide to successfully kill herself without being rescued. which meant that i found her 10 days later after her body had started decomposing. what’s the cost to friends and family who discover the suicides?... - annabeth...
On this vein (woah, there, pun)… After how Covid went down, I can feel how drastically less likely I am to take another pandemic/ global health emergency as seriously. I imagine that’s pretty widespread. That amount of lack of trust could be super problematic.... Agreed- I no longer take COVID vaccines, but was okay to comply in the moment especially because I have severe asthma. I think I’m likely to do the same I did this pandemic for the next however…take the vaccines before the virus has had the chance to weaken.... Thanks for sharing. I’m curious too! I can adopt a perspective where it doesn’t matter whether it was the vax or covid, especially because I think people were mostly innocent in their response, both government officials and the populace, but it would be nice to know to inform how... - nat...
I believe our leadership will be wwaaaay better and way more trustable if we can admit our mistakes and change course as soon as necessary I feel like Trump knew he made a mistake by not addressing Covid with more concern… especially after seeing good friends die, but, to save... I’d love to hear more about this. Seems like a few of yall all were able to admit worry about microplatics. My wife is also worried about this, and has replaced all our kids’ plastic dishware with either metal or glass.... - gayle...
The price of my favorite ice cream has nearly doubled. I like the idea of inclusiveness but don't see how making it harder for people to get medicaid is going to do that. And it is already too hard for people to qualify if you ask me.... - taurus12...
This is an overwhelmingly left leaning voter base quick to support any cause that seems noble in theory regardless of how bad the actual consequences are of said cause. This is what happens when you dont entirely think an idea through all the way. It is not pretty....
