Your assistant cancels an event you host: it stops being visible and guests can no longer RSVP. There is no undo. You choose whether every guest is emailed and texted about it, and can add a note. It refunds no one: an event someone has paid for has to be cancelled from its page on the web, where paid guests can be refunded.
Ask it like this
- “Cancel tomorrow’s picnic and tell everyone it is rained out.”
- “Cancel the workshop without notifying anyone.”
When another tool fits better
- Can you change my event?
You want to change the event rather than cancel it.
Before you use it
- It needs the Create events and send invitations for you permission, which UpTrust asks you to approve when you connect.
- It writes to UpTrust, and part of what it does cannot be undone, such as notifications already sent or text it replaces. Its effects reach people or services beyond your own account.
- In Claude, connect

What your assistant is told
Your assistant decides when to use this tool from the title and description UpTrust’s server gives it. Here they are exactly as the server sends them.
- Tool name
delete_event- Title
- Cancel an UpTrust event
- Description
Use this when the user asks to cancel an event they host. DESTRUCTIVE. Cancels the event: it stops being visible and guests can no longer RSVP. This is the commit point and there is no undo tool — get the user to confirm the specific event by name before calling, never infer it. `notifyGuests` is required and decides whether every guest is emailed and texted that the event is cancelled; ask the user which they want rather than guessing, and pass `message` to include their note in the notice. It never refunds anyone: an event any guest has paid for is refused with `paid_event_cancel_on_web` and nothing changes — tell the user to cancel it from the event page on the web, where paid guests can be refunded.
