Can you change my event?

Edit an UpTrust event (update_event)

Your assistant changes only the details you name on an event you host, such as its time, place, description or price; everything else stays as it was. If you ask it to tell the guests, every guest gets an email and a text, so it should confirm that with you separately. Setting a price needs Stripe payouts connected on the web.

Ask it like this

  • “Move my Saturday hike to 10am.”
  • “Change the book club venue and let the guests know.”

When another tool fits better

Before you use it

  • It needs the Create events and send invitations for you permission, which UpTrust asks you to approve when you connect.
  • It writes to UpTrust, and part of what it does cannot be undone, such as notifications already sent or text it replaces. Its effects reach people or services beyond your own account.
  • In Claude, connect https://mcp.uptrusting.com/mcp. It is not on the ChatGPT address, https://mcp.uptrusting.com/chatgpt. How to connect.

What your assistant is told

Your assistant decides when to use this tool from the title and description UpTrust’s server gives it. Here they are exactly as the server sends them.

Edit an UpTrust event
Description
Use this when the user asks to change an event they host — its time, place, description, price or other details; it changes the fields you pass. To message guests without changing the event, use send_event_blast. This is the commit point, not a drafting tool: confirm the exact new values with the user before calling. Only the fields you pass change; every field you omit is left exactly as it was, and there is no way to clear a field through this tool. `priceCents` turns paid RSVPs on (a positive price in US cents — real money, confirm the amount) or off (0); it requires the host to have Stripe payouts connected on the web. Passing `message` EMAILS AND TEXTS every guest about the change — confirm that separately, and omit it to edit quietly. The response echoes the whole stored event, so read it back to the user to confirm what landed.
