Your assistant changes the text or title of one of your own posts on your feed, a group’s feed or an event’s wall, as the app’s edit does. As in the app, that works within an hour of posting. The new text replaces all of the old, so for a post your assistant did not write, it needs the whole new text from you. The images and link stay as they are, and an edit notifies no one.
Ask it like this
- “Fix the typo in the post I just made.”
- “Take the title off my last post.”
When another tool fits better
- Can you fix what I posted?
It is a message or reply in a group channel. - Can you post this on my feed?
You want a new post instead.
Before you use it
- It needs the Post for you permission, which UpTrust asks you to approve when you connect.
- It writes to UpTrust, and part of what it does cannot be undone, such as notifications already sent or text it replaces. Its effects reach people or services beyond your own account.

What your assistant is told
Your assistant decides when to use this tool from the title and description UpTrust’s server gives it. Here they are exactly as the server sends them.
- Tool name
edit_post- Title
- Edit one of the user's own posts on the feed, a group feed or an event wall
- Description
Use this when the user asks you to change the wording or title of one of their own UpTrust posts outside channels: a post on their main feed, a group feed post, or a post on an event's wall. It replaces the text, the title or both, as the app's post editor does. Pass `postId` and the new `text`, `title` or both; what you leave out stays, and so do the link and images. `text` replaces the whole post, so pass it only when you know the post's full text (a post you made in this conversation, a group feed post read_channel gave you, or text the user gave you in full); otherwise ask the user for the whole new text. A blank `title` removes the title; blank `text` is refused. A group post shown in a main channel without having been sent to it is edited here, by the `messageId` read_channel gives it: edit_channel_message answers `not_a_channel_message` for one. The user's channel messages and thread replies are edited with edit_channel_message, and this tool answers `channel_message` for one. Only the user's own (`not_your_post` otherwise), and only within an hour of posting, as in the app: an older one answers `not_editable`. A newly typed @username becomes a mention link as in post_to_feed, but an edit notifies no one, as in the app. Edit only when the user asks you to.
