Your assistant replaces the text of one of your own messages or replies, as the app’s edit does. As in the app, that works within an hour of posting; after that, you can delete it and post again. An edit notifies no one.
Ask it like this
- “Fix the typo in my last message in #general.”
- “Change the time in my announcement to 7pm.”
When another tool fits better
- Can you delete what I posted?
You want it gone altogether.
Before you use it
- It needs the Post for you permission, which UpTrust asks you to approve when you connect.
- It writes to UpTrust, and part of what it does cannot be undone, such as notifications already sent or text it replaces. Its effects reach people or services beyond your own account.
- In Claude, connect

What your assistant is told
Your assistant decides when to use this tool from the title and description UpTrust’s server gives it. Here they are exactly as the server sends them.
- Tool name
edit_channel_message- Title
- Edit one of the user's own channel messages or replies
- Description
Use this when the user asks you to change the wording of one of their own messages or thread replies in an UpTrust group channel: it replaces the text, as the app's edit does. Pass `messageId` for a message or `replyId` for a reply, never both, and the new `text`. Images, a title and a link stay as they are. Only the user's own, and only within an hour of posting, as in the app: an older one answers `not_editable`, and the user can delete it and post again. A group post shown in a main channel without having been sent to it is edited in the app. A newly typed @username becomes a mention link as in post_to_channel, but an edit notifies no one, as in the app. Edit only when the user asks you to.
