Claim an imported account

Your team moved from Slack to UpTrust. Take over the account that holds your old messages.

If your team moved from Slack to UpTrust, your old messages are already here. Claiming your account makes them yours, so you can pick up right where you left off.

What this account is

When your team brought its Slack history into UpTrust, we made an account for you and attached your old posts and replies to it. That account has no password yet, so no one can sign in to it. Claiming it sets your password and hands the account to you.

How to claim it

Your group admin sends you a claim link. Open it. If you are signed out, you pick a password and the account becomes yours. We sign you in right away, and all your imported posts and replies are already under your name. There is nothing to move or copy.

Lost your link?

A claim link is private to you, so do not share it. If you cannot find yours, ask the person who ran the import to send it again.

If you already have an UpTrust account

Maybe you signed up on UpTrust before, under a different email than your Slack one. Open the claim link while you are signed in to that account. UpTrust then offers to add this history to your account instead of making a second one.

What "add this history to my account" does

It moves the imported posts, replies, and reactions onto the account you are signed in with. After that they show up as yours, and the empty imported account is closed. You end up with one account that has everything in it.
