You can trust someone on some topics and not others. Telling UpTrust which topics you trust a person on makes your feed sharper, so a friend you trust on cooking doesn't sway what you see about politics.
Where to find it: When you press UpTrust or DownTrust on a post or comment, a small menu of topics opens right there.
How to do it
- Press UpTrust on a post by the person you want to trust.
- A menu opens that says Trust @name on... followed by topics from the post.
- Press a topic to add your trust on it. A check mark shows it's selected. You can pick more than one.
- To trust them less on a topic, do the same from the DownTrust side.
Where it shows up
Each profile shows the top five topics people trust that person on, and the top five they trust them less on. These come from everyone's votes, weighted by trust, so they reflect your own network. You can also browse the topics page to see what's active.
Tip
Topic trust feeds the same network that powers your scores. The more you tell UpTrust what you trust people on, the better your feed gets at matching the right voices to the right subjects.
