Creating a group gives the people you bring together one shared place to talk and make plans. It saves you from chasing the same friends across scattered chats and threads.
Where to find it: Open Groups and click Create Group in the top corner.
How to create one
- Go to Groups and click Create Group.
- Type a group name. A short description is optional but helps people know what it is.
- Choose whether the group is publicly visible. When it is on, anyone can find and join it. When it is off, only people you invite can come in.
- You can search for people to invite right away, or skip that and invite them later.
- Click Create Group. You land inside your new group as its admin.
Your first steps inside
Every new group starts with a home channel for chatting. From there you can add more channels, open the other tools, and invite people. As admin you control the group's settings.
Start small
Begin with one or two channels and a few people. An empty group with many channels can feel like a dead room. It is easier to grow once people are talking.
