Uptrust a person

Publicly say you trust a person on a topic.

Uptrusting a person is a public way to say you trust them on certain topics. It is the same Uptrust you press on a post, pointed at a person. It gives them a real head start in how your circle sees them, so good people get noticed sooner.

Where to find it: Go to the person's profile and click Uptrust near their picture. You can also uptrust someone from their face in a small group's People view.

Uptrust a person

  1. Open their profile and click Uptrust.
  2. Pick 1 to 4 topics you trust them on. You can search for a topic or pick from the suggestions.
  3. Click Uptrust to confirm.

Uptrusting a person is strong. On each topic you pick, it counts about the same as voting for them 20 times, so you will see more of their posts and ideas in that area. The person gets a notification telling them you uptrusted them. When someone uptrusts you, that notice (and the email) offers an Uptrust back button so you can return the favor from their profile.

Changing your mind

If your trust changes, open the person's profile, click the three-dots menu, and choose Downtrust. This records strong distrust: from your point of view, their content will score near zero no matter who else uptrusts them. Only use it when you really mean it.

After you uptrust someone

UpTrust may offer to help you invite other friends you trust on the same topics. It's a quick way to grow your trusted circle.
